Membership Applications

All memberships are on a calendar-year basis and include a subscription to the Journal of Southern History as well as a copy of the program for the annual meeting. Those making application prior to September 1 will receive back issues for the current year. After September 1, memberships will apply to the next calendar year. Please note that the dues are quite modest for a professional organization and provide a splendid opportunity for historians, history enthusiasts, and students to affiliate with a first-rate, scholarly enterprise. The student membership rate is subsidized by the Numan V. Bartley Fund.

SHA members qualify for discounted OAH membership.
