Graduate Student Luncheon

Friday, November 2, 11:45 A.M.

Bon Secour III

The eleventh annual graduate student luncheon is open to all registered students attending the meeting in Mobile. The luncheon is free of charge, and fully funded by the John and LaWanda Cox Fund, which was established in 2001 to promote the interests of graduate students within the SHA and the history profession. Tickets will be available at the registration desk for the first hundred students to ask for them.

The program this year will be a panel discussion conducted by three Woodward Award winners who all went on to publish books from their dissertations.

Another purpose of this luncheon is to provide a venue for students to get to know those from other institutions. We encourage students not to sit with those from their own school, but to seek out those of like interests from elsewhere. To facilitate that, tables will be labeled by field - e.g., Civil War, civil rights, women's history, labor, colonial era, etc.

Due to limitations of space and funding, we are not able to provide tickets for unregistered spouses or companions.
